About Kandy

Set around a lake in the hills, Kandy was the last royal capital of Sri Lanka and is a UNESCO World Heritage city. It is home to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in the country.

The city is also the centre of traditional Kandyan culture, dance and music, and a good gateway to the tea country and the hill train to Ella.
